If you happen to be in a bar or coffee shop for a long time, you might have heard whispers of disappointment by women. Some of the typical statements you might have heard could be ‘All he needs is a beneficial friend’ or ‘why men do not marry or care about the committed relationship’ etc.
Women argue that generally, men do not marry but rather want entertainment or chit-chat, etc. But it is only a fraction of reality. While the statistics tell almost negligible amounts of men to marry among a thousand, some men go further and seal the deal with a wedding ring.
But what do you have to say about others, right? Why men do not marry? What is their reason not to marry a woman?
Men have various reasons not to marry & their perception is different from one another by worlds apart. What are those reasons? you will get shocked once you know them.
THEY FEAR LOSING THEIR FREEDOM
Obviously, this one would have hit your thought the very first time. It is one of the greatest fear for a ‘free man, the loss of freedom.
Who does not want to live a carefree life? watching movies, hanging around with friends the whole, and frequently attending the all-night parties or simply becoming a workaholic without the worry of children & wife.
It is a common understanding by men that they see marriage as wrapping chains around them weighing them down.
The downside is they ignore the bigger picture that marriage can bring them. There are emotional & physical advantages of marriage. And most importantly, there are advantages by society that you avail.
But, when you ask singles is it okay not to get married, they will shake their heads in affirmation. Now, this tops the reason for not marrying.
THEY FEAR THE POTENTIAL OF DIVORCE
These are the men that have seen the extreme devastation of marriage. They have seen the relationship, built with respect & love, later shattered down to piece with a bill of divorce.
Now, this exact reality is also one of the reasons why men do not want to marry because they are aware of the looming divorce.
This fear is found very strongly in men due to their life experiences. Either they have witnessed it as a child, growing in a broken home, or have experienced themselves earlier.
Now, they believe this could be vulnerable to them again & so they avoid marrying, missing the countless benefits of marriage for a man.
They need to understand because the previous marriage did not work out well does not mean it will happen again. These men need proper guidance & counseling to remove the fears from their hearts.
There is a need to show them the living proof of men who got married the second time & are now living happily than ever before.
THEY ARE UNWILLING FOR SACRIFICES
This unwillingness is called the love for the me-centered lifestyle. You can see a lot of men avoiding marriage due to this reason.
Men see this as a continuous series of sacrifices throughout their life. It is what marriage means to a man who is single and uneducated. But they fail to realize it has nothing to do with sacrificing yourself for the partner. Instead, it demands faithfulness and investment of emotions.
Some men find it hard to accommodate another person in their life because they fear they will lose all the benefits of not getting married.
THEY PREFER DATING APPS OVER MARRIAGE
This topic does not require any briefing. It is very easy for single, unmarried men, to swipe lots of girls over the Tinder app display screen & hook up with a sexually appealing girl within no time.
A man who is not committed will be fond of these apps because it delivers endless sources of sexual satisfaction & it is why men don’t want to get married anymore.
But what they lack to foresee is that these types of apps will not aid them in times of suffering from health issues or emotional breakdowns, where only a committed partner can satisfy them.
THEY ARE UNEDUCATED ABOUT MARRIAGE BENEFITS
Men make up their perception about marriage through experiences from other people. They do not understand that this does not necessarily need to happen to them also, because circumstances differ from person to person. Due to this, they refrain from marriage so they need proper education about the benefits of married life.
According to the statistics of the US Census Bureau, married men get higher salaries in comparison to singles. They are healthier and live longer as compared to unmarried men.
Also, their sex life is far better than the sex lives of singles. the survey results from National Health & Social Life Survey show 51 percent of married men were satisfied with their lives comparative to unmarried men.
SOME MEN ARE CAREER-FOCUSED
Some men prefer their careers over married life. Their aims are different than men who prefer marriage. If they want they can create a balance between marriage & career, which is a mature way of living. But they choose not to divide their focus between marriage and career and their focus leans more towards career building.
THEY WANT TO GET FINANCIALLY STABLE BEFORE MARRIAGE
These men want to marry when they are financially stable. So for this reason, they start earning and try to gather all necessary assets before a commitment like owning a house, a car, a handsome job, or an established business that supplies continuous food and income for their living.
So these men may not marry until they feel the time is right. At least these men, apart from the majority of singles, know the reason why marriage is important.
CONCLUSION
While there are numerous benefits of marriage, why is it that men do not marry? The one approximate answer could still be a ball-chain myth.
Men do not marry due to the responsibilities they have to bear. It would be an expensive obstacle throughout their lives. But they forget the benefits of it are numerous in comparison.
If only they could examine the situation more deeply, they would likely marry a girl of their dream and live happily ever after.
When men do not marry, they think it is the right thing but, eventually, as time passes, life gets worse for them because they are alone, need a partner to take care of them & support them when they are emotionally dishearten. Then they come to realize they were wrong.
But sometimes, their delay in realizing and, they pay the price in terms of age factors and health issues. Now they understand dating apps were no good to them.
But for those young men who are not married yet, they need to be educated and told that it is the right to do to live a happier, contented, and satisfied life.
